A fine example of JJW's freewheeling style, but he has made too many freewheeling albums to pick just one - how about Jerry Jeff (cover has him sitting on a piano shrugging his shoulders and smiling), Too Old to Change, Contrary to Ordinary, on and on. Through it all, his best songs are his ballads and love songs.

Coming from a world renowned hell-raiser, they probably say more about his view of the world than anything else. He has never called himself an outlaw much less gone overboard and absurd trying to be one (See: David Allen Coe)

Whereas his Texas compadres - Robert Earl Keene, Pat Green, Jack Ingram and others have tried so hard (too hard!) to be big stars, Jerry Jeff did it by playing his music the way he say fit and not really caring whether it made him a star or not. Now that's "freewheeling".
